The Town of Flower Mound, in partnership with the Denton County India Cultural Association (DCICA)
, is hosting its first Diwali: Festival of Lights
on Saturday, Oct. 15! The traditional Indian holiday celebrates the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and strength over fear. Join us at Heritage Park (600 Spinks Rd.) from 5 to 9 p.m. for music, dance performances, Indian cuisine and street food, vendor booths, a fashion show, and much
At the festival, you'll also be able to enjoy and create beautiful works of rangoli art, which are intricate designs traditionally created using powders and sands. Since we'll be outside, our rangoli art will be created using colorful chalk. If you’d like to create your own design, plan to arrive at Heritage Park at 4 p.m. so you have plenty of time to complete it before the festival begins at 5 p.m.
We’re also still accepting applications for food and booth vendors. If you’d like booth space to sell Indian cuisine and street foods or goods related to Diwali and India, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 972.874.6327. We can't wait to celebrate with you all, and happy Diwali!
