FEMA Assistance

Disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been made available for those impacted by the winter storm. Flower Mound individuals and business owners who sustained losses may begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.disasterassistance.gov/ or by calling 800.621.3362 or 800.462.7585.

Statewide Effort Announced to Collect Damage Assessment Data from Winter Storm

Gov. Abbott announced a statewide effort to collect damage assessment data for this unprecedented winter storm. The objective in this effort is to demonstrate the scale of this disaster at the local level. With this detailed information, the Texas Division of Emergency Management will be able to demonstrate the total impact statewide. The success of this effort will assist the local jurisdiction with the eligibility to potential federal programs.

If you were impacted, please complete the survey to help officials gain an understanding of the damages that have occurred.

Water Usage Can Resume as Normal

We’re starting to see some questions come in about if residents can resume “normal” water usage. Good news, Flower Mound! Water usage can resume as normal, which includes running your dishwasher and washing clothes.

The Town of Flower Mound is NOT under a boil notice. Our supply has not been severely impacted due to the careful planning of infrastructure improvements by the Town, as well as our wholesale providers planning efforts.

Frozen and Burst Pipes

As temperatures begin to rise, it is possible residents will see pipes burst. Information on how to locate your home’s water shut-off valve can be found online. If you need assistance shutting off the water to your home, please call Public Works at 972.874.6400.

Registered Contractors List

Looking for a contractor to do work on your home such as fix your plumbing? The Town has a searchable Registered Contractors List of all contractors and businesses who are registered with the Town, a requirement to perform work on a home. The list is updated throughout the year and can be viewed at www.flower-mound.com/contractors. View the Building Code of the Town’s Code of Ordinances (Chapter 14). Please note, this list is provided as a public service and the Town does not endorse or recommend contractors.

Power Use

On Friday, February 19, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) announced they will come out of emergency conditions and return to normal operating conditions. View the release on ERCOT's website. Electric utilities will continue to address remaining customer outages. Customers should contact their electric provider, if they are without power.

Operation crews for both CoServ and Oncor have been working around the clock so all customers' power is restored. Customers can view updates on CoServ’s website and Oncor's website.
