Preparing the Materials for Collection:

  • After submitting a request of items, you will receive a response within 24 hours (excluding weekends) to schedule a pickup date. You will then be mailed a kit with information, instructions, bags, labels, and zip ties for your items.
  • Ensure all materials are in the original container or property identified utilizing the labels provided in the kit.
  • Ensure all containers are sealed tight to prevent spills. Place leaking containers in a plastic bag. Containers can be reinforced with duct tape.
  • Containers must be at or less than five gallons; containers exceeding five gallons will not be accepted.
  • Only like items in bags.
    • Do not mix cleaners with gasoline or paint with light bulbs, etc.
    • Request additional bags for additional types of household hazardous waste (HHW) needing disposal.
  • If your waste spills, remove it and place it in a new container and close securely. Remove as much spillage from the large plastic bag as possible. Call 469.451.3713 for additional bags and/or a new pickup schedule. When new bags arrive, label what spilled in a dirty bag and place the dirty bag in a clean bag so it is contained. Place in a new bag with completely sealed items.
  • Electronic items are not required to be placed into a plastic bag or container nor labeled.

Placement of Containment Bag and E-Waste Items:

  • The containment bag(s) and electronic waste items must be placed out for collection by 7 a.m. on your scheduled collection day.
  • Place the items on your front porch visible from the street, not at the curb.
  • If the items will not be visible from the street, or if there is a gated entrance that has entry instructions, please call 469.451.3713.
  • Take the empty bag to your front porch. Bring each item you want collected up to the bag and place inside. This avoids the bag being pulled, dragged, or perforated.
  • Bags must close completely.
  • Items can be placed in front of your garage door as long as it is not located in the alley.

Collection:

  • Republic Services will arrive on the scheduled collection day between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. to collect items.
  • Unlabeled items will not be collected.
