Recycling Services

Weekly Recycling Services

Service includes weekly semi-automated recycling collection utilizing 95-gallon polycarts. Recycling polycarts will be picked up by a different truck on your collection day. All items are separated at the Republic Services recycling facility, eliminating the need to sort recyclable materials.

The full eligible recyclable materials list has been expanded to include milk and juice cartons, drink boxes without straws, and additional plastics. Please note, the linked graphic depicts grocery bags as being recyclable; however, due to recent changes in the recycling industry, this is no longer true. Other common recyclable materials include:

  • Paper
  • Flattened cardboard
  • Plastic Bottles and Jugs
  • Metal Cans
  • Cartons
  • Glass

Please make sure your recyclables are empty, clean, and dry before placing them in your recycling container.

Common non-recyclable items include:

  • Plastic bags and wrappers
  • Yard waste
  • Food
  • Greasy pizza boxes
  • Polystyrene (Styrofoam)
  • Soiled Paper
  • Clothing and Shoes
  • Electronics and batteries
  • Tools
  • Construction waste
  • Car tires
  • Medical waste
  • Diapers
  • Scrap metal

To find a recycling center that accepts items not included on the Eligible Recyclable Materials list, please visit Time to Recycle or Recycle Texas Online. Local recycling sources can also be found for some household items, clothing, automotive parts, and construction materials through Keep Flower Mound Beautiful.

KFMB's "Bags to Benches" program can now help you do something good with all those plastic bags! Please visit their BAGS TO BENCHES page on their website for more information.
