Instructor Bios


Angela Wood

Angela has always enjoyed physical fitness. She says that when she is in a group exercise class, she is in her happy place! Group exercise makes for shared joy, fun, and friendships. Angela is certified since 2004 by the Cooper Inst. and YMCA for Group Fitness, Personal Training, Cycling, and Aquatics. She currently holds the AEA’s highest level of achievement for those leading Aquatic group Fitness and personal training in Water along with a 500-hour Balance Body Pilates certification.


Carolyn Martinez

Carolyn is an AEA Certified Water Fitness Instructor and a 200 Hour RYT Yoga Instructor. Her experience and training ranges from children's gymnastics/yoga to active senior fitness classes. Her goal is to provide a positive environment, great workout, and sense of community. She believes strongly that the connections made in group exercise play an important role in achieving fitness goals. She is CPR/AED certified.

Dawn Maynor

Dawn Maynor

Dawn has been a student and teacher of yoga since 2008. Since then she has earned her  E-RYT 500 Hour Yoga Certification, Reiki Master, is a Dream Board Facilitator, the creator of a 4 week online coaching course Manifest More, and the founder/host of Manifest More with Dawn Maynor Podcast. You can tune in for free on Apple, Spotify, Amazon Music, and Audible. In her yoga classes she guides you from a busy mind to a calm mind. An anxious body to a composed body. Her classes are unique and different every time you step on to the mat. She is passionate about helping people find their inner calm and stillness. She combines the power of your breath, affirmations, movement, and visualizations to help you connect with your highest self.


Heather Watts

Heather Watts is certified to teach a variety of fitness formats; one of her specialties is strength training. She teaches iBurn which is a format focused on strength conditioning. Heather’s passion is helping people find their own passion and goals for fitness by making it fun and a part of their lifestyle. She believes that fitness is not exclusive to athletes. Fitness is achievable for all: mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and children. Make no mistake, a training session with her will be rigorous but it is result driven and it may even put a smile on your face.


Jody Vise

Jody has over 33 years of fitness experience and developed the Aqua Fitness Program at the CAC when she joined staff in 2008. She is currently certified by US Water Fitness, holds both certifications in Group Fitness & Personal Training through ACE, and holds a 200 HR RYT in Yoga. Her goal, in all her classes, is to impart health education to help her students achieve their fitness goals and have fun doing it.

Karen Jones

Karen Jones

Karen has been an aerobics instructor and personal trainer since 1990. She has instructed a variety of fitness classes such as water aerobics, strength training, cycle, treadmill, step, Hi/Lo, aqua zumba, and seniors. Karen became a registered yoga teacher in 2011 and a RYT500 in 2014, as well as, a certified Ayurveda Yoga Specialist. She is also a certified CPR/AED instructor.


Linsi Neal

Linsi earned her Group Exercise Instructor Certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America and is certified in Tabata Boot Camp and Zumba.


Melissa Dixon

Melissa has over 12 years of experience as a certified Zumba instructor. Melissa’s classes are fun, energetic, and easy to follow so participants feel confident and catch on in each class. She says there are no wrong moves in Zumba if you keep moving! Melissa is passionate about Zumba and loves helping students on their fitness journey.


Nida Tashfeen

Nida is a certified BollyX instructor who is extremely passionate about dancing and believes that one of the key things about exercising is finding something that speaks to your soul. Her fitness routine is inspired and driven by the heart pumping, energetic rhythms of Bollywood. In her classes, you will get a full body cardio workout alternating between high and low intensity dance sequences to get you moving, sweating, and motivated. No experience required…all you need is an open mind and a positive attitude!


Peggy Cartusciello

Peggy is a lifelong Fitness Professional with decades of experience. She holds national certifications in Personal Training and Fitness Nutrition. Early in her career she used my skills to place in numerous Physique competitions at local and national levels. She loves putting her knowledge and experience to work by helping people reach their fitness and wellness goals. Together she can help you reach your goals! Peggy is a Flower Mond resident for more than 20 years and loves working with her community.


Samantha Parum

Samantha is licensed to instruct Zumba, Zumba Gold, Zumba Gold Toning, Zumbatomic, and Zumba Toning. Throughout the nine years she has taught group exercise, she has focused her path to teaching Zumba and Toning. Samantha is also CPR certified.


Stephanie Murdock

Stephanie has a strong background in health and wellness as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES®) and American Council on Exercise (ACE) Certified Health Coach. Additionally, she is currently pursuing a master's degree in healthcare administration. She has been an Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Certified Group Fitness Instructor since 2019. While qualified to teach a variety of classes, dance fitness is her number one passion. Her goal for her classes is to make her students smile, laugh, and sweat in a comfortable, non-judgmental environment where all people (and all dance moves!) are welcomed and accepted.


Sydney Holmes

Sydney has been a GroupX instructor at the CAC since 2016. She is currently certified in Zumba, and enjoys sharing her love of dance and exercise. There is a wide range of what you can expect in any given Zumba class, but the music is always pumping and you are guaranteed an excellent workout that doesn’t feel like a workout!
