Overview
In accordance with state law (Transportation Code Sec. 460) the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) board is composed of fourteen (14) members who serve two year terms and includes:
(a) One member appointed by the governing body of each municipality with a population of 17,000 or more that is located in Denton County.
(b) Three members appointed by the Commissioner’s Court of Denton County, two of whom must be a resident in the unincorporated area of the county.
(c) Three members to be designated by the remaining municipalities with a population of more than 500 but less than 17,000 located in Denton County.
(d) One member appointed by the governing body of each municipality in the county with a population of more than 500 but less than 17,000, and with additional stipulations.
Since Flower Mound has a population of over 17,000, the Town has a representative on the Board of Directors for the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA).
In accordance with DCTA bylaws the Board adopts the annual operating budget and is responsible for setting policy. Board meetings are generally held every fourth Thursday of each month with a work session starting at 1:30 p.m., followed by a regular meeting starting at 3:00 p.m. in the DCTA Board Room, 1955 Lakeway Dr, Ste, 260, Lewisville.

(a) Must be a resident of Denton County
(b) Must have professional experience in the field of transportation, business, government, engineering or law
