Flower Mound Citizens Academy

Bridging the Gap Between Residents and Local Government

Flower Mound residents are invited to participate in the Flower Mound Citizens Academy (FMCA). Participants will gain a better understanding of their Town’s government and the services provided, while Town staff will gain valuable insight into the priorities and needs of residents.

Ten (10) sessions are held at various Town facilities between January and March, from 6 to 8:30 p.m., with most sessions on Tuesdays, followed by a graduation ceremony during a regular Town Council meeting. Each participant must attend one regular Town Council meeting over the course of the Academy. Please review the session schedule to make sure you can make most of the dates as participants can only miss two sessions in order to graduate. View the 2022 schedule here.

The maximum class size has been met for 2022, so the application has been closed.

Sign up to the Town's Notify Me alerts (News Flash) to receive an email when registration opens in November 2022 for the 2023 class.

Each week residents will hear from different Town staff members, representing various Departments. It is free to Flower Mound residents and business owners, 18-years and older, who are able to commit to a minimum of eight out of the ten sessions. Registration is limited to the first 25 applicants. A release of liability agreement will be required.
