Friends of the Library
Friends Mission Statement
The Friends of the Flower Mound Public Library is a nonprofit organization of volunteers acting to engender public awareness and support of the library to enhance its service to the community.

Description of Service
The Friends of the Flower Mound Public Library was chartered as a nonprofit organization in 1984, for the purpose of establishing Flower Mound’s first library. The first library served the area from a small building with less than 2,000 square feet at 3925 Churchill Road. A 4,000 square foot interim library opened in Town Hall in 1994. The dream of the founding Friends was realized when a freestanding 25,000 square foot building opened in February 2000 at 3030 Broadmoor Lane.

Supporting the Library
The Friends support the library by raising funds for materials, supporting children’s and adult programming, holding book sales, lending political support on library and literacy issues, volunteering at the library, publicizing library needs, and informing the public about library services.
